Home, sweet home

In 1967, John and Michelle Phillips moved into 783 Bel Air Road. It was a beautiful English Tudor house, planted on two acres of terraced, landscaped garden in Bel Air. It had leaded windows in the library, showing a sailing ship-a lovely period touch. There was also a grape arbor outside the back door, and a path led from the house down to the pool. The house was previously owned by Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond.

The Wrap Dress

When Diane von Furstenberg created her wrap dress in the 1970s, she had no idea how far that simple design would take her. Diane walked into Diana Vreeland's office with three of her dresses in a suitcase in 1970. Vreeland soon writes DVF a letter congratulating her on her "smashing" designs, offering Vogue's help.
In a decade when women were entering the workplace and celebrating their sexual freedom, the wrap dresses became a symbol of power and liberation. By 1976, Diane had sold more than 5 million signature dresses-revolutionizing the way women dressed worldwide.
