I am working for a very good Indian company and I worked for 3 very bad Indian companies.I feel the real difference between Good and Bad companies.With good company you never have to worry about your salary and legal things.With bad company you always have to worry about those things.

My attorney tells me they don't give employees copies of labor applications.
Is this normal? Would I need it in future - if I switch jobs 180 days after 485 etc?

if possible try to complete the course or take CPT ...As of now you are in legal status only but if you dont complete your course..you may have some tough questions to answer when you go for visa stamping.. also try to search in murthy..you will have lot more information.

Its an MBA course and I am in software field there wont be any justifiable CPT I guess..Also, there was an RFE generated during H-1 processing asking for my status in between times. I sent I-20 to the INS and then only my H1 was approved.
What kind of tough questions you think they can ask?? I am very new to all these and do not have much knowlege but only thing i did is try to maintain status legally..is there anything wrong that I did??

My friend and I, filed our respective H1B extension in June 2007. We were both expecting only a 1-year extension since our I-140s have been pending at Nebraska SC since December 2006. He received his H1B extension approval (3 years) in October and I received mine first week of December. Despite both I-140s pending, we both got 3-year extension! We are both very happy because the ;)approval saved us a lot of money. Both of us filed I-485 in July.

Unfortunately, your new wife cannot file the I-485 until your PD becomes current. Because she cannot file her I-485, she will not be entitled to an EAD based on having a pending I-485. If your new wife's country of birth is not the same as yours, you both may benefit from quota cross-chargeability rules.
Say if the PD is current, what is the process to file papers for the second wife.?
And as mentioned above is it necessary to inform USCIS about divorce. If yes, how?

With the current 14n at about $3,000, and the upgrade costs $1,500, I guess the price for new Kodak DSLR should around $4,500 street in March, which is about the same as the 1D-II, available in April to the mass public. What will be the price of the 1Ds by then? Hehe . . .
To me, what I like to find out more about this new Kodak machine is:
1. Lenses - How good will be the (old) primes? Or we still need the latest greatest biggest zooms to get good quality image?
2. Raw / Jpeg - As an amateur, must we still shoot Raw, and Jpeg is still far back in quality?
3. Long expsoure - As a landscape lover, how will the babe perform in long exposures up to 1 minute (not in well controlled studio condition)?
I am waiting for more information before making any move. Oh, I love the iso 6 for landscape. You said kodachrome iso 25 ???

I went to India to get married in sep 2008 and went for stamping for my wife and she got stamped for H4 untill 2011 feb. and we are back on to US. After reaching here I have my GC in my mail.
my PD is may 2006 I am waiting to add my wife to my GC I talked to the lawer and he said once the dates are current we can add her.

Would greatly appreciate some advice regarding my fiancee.
She is currently in the US on a B1-B2 Tourist/Business visa. This is her fifth visa and has visited the US a total of 10 times over the past 5 years, spending 1-5 months each time. She has NEVER had a problem on arrival at the airport, never been called into the room for questioning, etc.
We are planning on getting married, but we need to make a trip to her home country for my work in the next few weeks for about a month. We were planning on waiting till 30 days after our return to marry and then to apply for her I-130/I-485 after that.
We just had a consultation with an immigration lawyer who recommended that she does NOT leave the country, and that we should get married ASAP and apply for the I-130/I-485 now, wait 2-3 months and make our trip then. The lawyer thought that there was a possibility that she might not be admitted the next time she comes in if the border agent has even the tiniest suspicion that she is entering to get married.
Although her previous B1-B2 visas were renewed each year without an interview, this year she was called in and they asked her some questions. She mentioned that she was doing some work for me in China, and that she would be staying with me in the US. She also put me down as her financial guarantee in the US.
I understand the basics of dual intent, and would not want to compromise her ability to enter the country.
Of course no one can know for sure, but would be grateful for some experienced advice about this. What are her chances of being refused entry when she returns? (Her visa is valid for one year, so it would be on the same visa she arrived here on this summer.) Would it be better if she arrived on a different flight than me? Or even better if she arrived on a flight to another city rather than the one where we live?
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Best would be getting married while in US..The attorney's would have much more control if COS was done from US. Most attorney's would not be of much help when consular processing is involved.

In my instance I have been working with my current employer for past 5 years and this is 2nd H1B renewal with the same employer. It is sad that they have such a policy which discourages jobs in consulting sector.

- Stay away from Murthy. They've screwed up at least 2 cases that I know of. And their response is slow.
- Thomas Fan in MD: Run like you've seen the devil. I have no idea why malpractice suits has not been filed against him yet.
- Clark Trevor in CA - Guy is awesome but expensive.
- Ellen Krengel in CA - Decent.
- Gowda in MI - Slow, inefficient.
- Rajeev Khanna - seems to be good, efficient and responsive.
- Jon Wu, CA - Slow as hell but knows the ins/outs

I am one of many people here waiting for the date to be able to apply for I-485 because of visa retrogression. I have 3 more H-1 years so I am considering changing a job in category EB2 so the process can be faster (my PD is Jan 2004 with approved I-140). My question is whether this position below can be considered in EB2 or not. To my knowledge on Eb2, it must be more than 5 years experience with BS or MS. I have a MS, but my work experience in US is total 4 years 4 months (intern 10 months in US during MS + 11 months with OPT after MS + 2yrs6months with H-1B).
This is just a part of the job description:
- BS Degree plus 3-5 Yrs experience or MS Degree plus 2 Yrs experience.
