I am sorry to ask...If H1B doesn't have I-94 attatched to it and it was approved when my friend was in india, he can work on L1. My question is, if he moves out of country and get H1B stamped, can he work on L1?
As it is not a change of status. If he gets it stamped on his passport and enters the county on H1B. YES he can. I strongly recommend to get his visa stamped in India until unless he has a US degree.

Australian Immigration Minister Chris Evans announced recently a new agreement between Australia and New Zealand to improve identity checks and border security. Australia and New Zealand recently signed a memorandum of understanding [MoU] to share biometric data, an agreement that will further strengthen our nations' border security. Biometrics is widely used in the international community as an effective tool to manage visa and immigration processes, improve identity management and combat fraud.
At the Five Countries Conference (FCC) in London a memorandum of understanding was signed between Australia and New Zealand. The Conference enables Five data sharing Countries to exchange information and agree a way forward to improve border security. FCC data-sharing helps to establish the true identity of people whose identities or nationalities were previously unknown or uncertain, and has been used in Australia to check the identities of irregular maritime arrivals, other people in immigration detention and illegal foreign fishers. Since 2006, more than 100 000 fingerprint records have been exchanged, helping Australia and FCC partner countries to establish the true identities and immigration histories of people whose identities were unknown or uncertain. Collection and sharing of biometric data is a proven tool in the fight against identity fraud and can prevent unlawful entrants' efforts to thwart Australia's border and visa processes.

Yes , I did extension for H4 to avoid out of status. But that will automatically override her approved H1 to h4.(The latest one is valid). But when ever she is ready to work, (in her case she is pregnant and planning to work from next year only) her employer has to change the H4 to h1b(COS). There is premium processing and it would take only 15 days. No need to apply for a fresh H1b.

I think you have to wait until your 3yr H1B is clear. If you find a new job before your current H1B expire, you may not have enough time left on your H1 to get the new GC labor and I-140 approved.

My I-140 will be approved shortly in premium processing and I'll be applying for 3yr H1 extension. There is a chance that I may get laid-off soon and I wanted to know if I can change the jobs while my H1 extension petition is pending with USICS. My current H1 will expire in June'07.

This is a recent USCIS update announcing that any U.S. citizen seeking to adopt a Nepali child, whose case is not affected by the suspension of processing cases involving Nepali children claimed to have been found abandoned, should file the Form I-600 with the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu.
This change in the filing location for the Form I-600 petitions applies to two groups of prospective adoptive parents who are not affected by the suspension. The first group is those who received a referral letter from the Government of Nepal�s Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare before Aug. 6, 2010, informing them of a proposed match of an abandoned child. The second group is those who seek to adopt Nepali children who were relinquished by known parent(s) and whose identity and relationship can be confirmed.
USCIS strongly encourages prospective adoptive parents to follow this procedure for their own benefit, based on growing concerns about unreliable documents, irregularities in the methods used to identify children for adoption in Nepal, and the resulting difficulties in classifying those children as orphans under U.S. immigration law. Greeting everybody: I have been working for the same Company since 2002 first J1 then 6 years of H1-B expiring on July of this year (2009). Currently my employer is going thru the process for a Green Card with our Legal Firm and they proposed me an E Visa while the Green Card approval process is work in progress (I passed the DOL approval and I'm in the middle of the recruiting phase). I'd like to get a third party opinion if I can be granted a Green Card switching from H1-B to E Visa.
Anyone familiar with this matter?

You dont have to apply for a COS as long as she is leaving US before her current I-94 expires. However, note that when she goes for her H4 interview, she might be asked to prove her H1 status by showing her employment details (recent pay checks, tax documents..) in addition to your employment documents before they give her the H4 Visa...This happened with one of my friends at Chennai embassy...Just wanted to give you a heads up on that....

She also met with law enforcement leaders to discuss the Department�s efforts to support state, local and tribal law enforcement in protecting communities from cross-border threats. She said, "Over the past year and a half, this Administration has pursued a new border security strategy with an unprecedented sense of urgency, making historic investments in personnel, technology and infrastructure while combating transnational criminal organizations that smuggle weapons, cash and people across our shared border with Mexico.� She said that Operation Stonegarden is one part of our overall strategy to provide state, local and tribal law enforcement on the frontlines the resources they need to confront the complex and dynamic challenges that exist along our borders.
The fiscal year 2010 Operation Stonegarden grants�totaling $60 million nationally�support 15 border states and the Territory of Puerto Rico to enhance the capabilities of federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies to secure U.S. borders and territories. I HAVE H1 APPROVED TILL 04/10 BUT I ENTERED USA USING AP THIS YEAR SO MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT I AM ON EAD NOW WITH SPONSORING EMPLOYER. I AM ASLO DOING PARTIME JOB IN OTHER FIELD ON EAD SINCE 01/08. NOW IF I GET FULL TIME JOB WITH OTHER EMPLOYER (other field)AND IF I WORK LESS HOURS (means I get under pay than showed in labor) WITH SPONSORING EMPLOYER, WILL I BE IN TROUBLE? Please give me right way.

If the new address is not with in acceptable distance, as per DOL, your employer need to start the process all over again for the new location. Since i-140 approved you can recapture your PD from 2007.

I have H1b Stamped in Jan (Approved in 2007 valid till 1 Oct 2010). My Petioner is well run lawful consultant company (have filed 100+ H1bs since 2001) and he wants me to come to US. My Petioner has in-house as well Client side Projects.
I am having around 8 years of IT experience and Graduate degree in Computer Science. I have worked in past as full time employee with US' No.1 IT Manufacturer in India & have travelled to US twice on Business Visa, I am currently working with a US Bank's Offshore Technology centre in India.
My question is "Is it safe to travel in First week of March 2010 to USA with my H1b stamped in January 2008. In that case What documents I should be carrying along with I-797 Notice of Approval of I-129 Petition.
