Good News for Our Citizenship clients. More than 9,000 candidates will become new citizens during 63 special ceremonies hosted by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in recognition of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day on Sept. 17. As part of this celebration, USCIS is partnering with the National Park Service (NPS) to hold naturalization ceremonies at 22
national park sites across the country Sept. 13-24 under the theme, "Embrace Citizenship -
Experience America Through Your National Parks."
Highlights for this year�s celebration include a Sept. 15 ceremony for 25 new citizens at the
foot of General Grant's Tree, the largest giant sequoia in the General Grant Grove section of Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park in Three Rivers, Calif. This grand park was named in

I have a question which I have been wanting to ask for a while, so if GC is for a future job then can someone incorporate a company and work for self on EAD/AC21. If there is query for ablity to pay then at that point can you have an offer from other company and work for that company for 6 months once you get 485 approved.

Nothing stops you from having a religious marraige.
You will anyways need a marraige certificate from the civil authorities to prove marriage, even if you hold a religious marraige.

could'nt have put it better myself. B1 and H1 has direct impact on the businesses in India (who are BTW paying lobbyists to influence ministers and trade groups to make such requests to increase the visas). Why does anyone in India care what the EB visa limit it?

You can re-file a denied I-140. In my case, first I-140 was denied in 2006 but never received the denial notice, so time for appeal lapsed. However, during 2007 July, we concurrently filed using the same labor. The second I-140 was approved in 2009. Both the I-140s were processed by Nebraska Service Center.
Hence, based on my experience, you can refile but you should be able to over come or at least have strong enough reasons to over come the cause of initial denial.
I am not sure on how to deal with with-drawl of your existing appeal and 485 petitions.
As far as 180 day rule of labor is concerned, my understanding is that, based on USCIS clarification, it only applies to initial filing of I-140 petition but not for re-filing as long as the original I-140 was filed with in permitted time. You can go through websites of Murthy / Rajiv Khanna for authentic information on this.

A friend of mine told me that we do not have to pay Social Security Tax while working on EAD. Does anybody know if this is true ?
That would be a huge plus in case its true.
Your friend may have confused 485 based EAD with F1 OPT based EAD. On F1, you do not pay SS or Medicare. On AOS based EAD, you do need to pay SS/Medicare taxes.

How long does it take these days to process greencard in L1 Category these days. If the sponsor company applies L1 visa for a very experience worker, what is the best type of L1 visa needs to be applied that will lead to a quicker greencard status.

Hello,
I am a US Citizen who applied through I-130 form for my married daughter since 2001. She and her husband came here with a tourist visa in 2003 and they overstayed it for a period of 6 years. In the meatime, they had 2 americam kids. They are still in the USA.
I am starting to receiving document from NVC to pay $70 for Affidavit of Support for their cases. I would like to know if an Adjustment of Status can be made for them here in the USA as the immigration does not know where they are right now. I presumed also that they can't return back to their country of origin cause they've been here for so long that they could get caught and get penalized. They have never been employed but received support from the family members and their kids received welfare aids.
What can be done if I want to Adjust their status here? Thank you already for your answers.

My priority date is in Oct 2005 (ROW) and yesterday was the 180th day after filing my I-485 application. I need some help in deciding if I should wait for the green card with my current employer or think of changing the job using AC21. Your suggestions will be really helpful.
